Individuals deserve the right to decide whether or not they should use marijuana. The government should not tell individuals what to do as long as they do not harm others.

I think a person's opinion about this is strongly affected by their beliefs about the benefits/harmful effects of marijuana in the first place. I am not in favour of legalizing marijuana - but I don't feel really strongly about it either way. I don't think we need anything else for people to abuse or become addicted to. A counter argument would be that it is not addictive - if that is the case, why do some people smoke all their lives?
